Only six months ago, Boone launched the Pickens Plan and America responded!

We are an Army almost 1.5 million strong! With a new president less than a month away, join the Army, take the pledge, be a District leader, stand shoulder to shoulder with your fellow citizens and make the world safer and the country energy independent.

A realistic plan, a good energy plan with a million people in support can fail when the ship is sabotaged, the treasury raided, and the theoretically worthless, poorly run primary business institutions of an entire nation are propped up with the money raided from the treasury that has only existed to test the operation of printing presses. Make no mistake, serious blows have been dealt to the U.S. Economy and that's one sure way to stop a good plan, some call it sabotage, others call it lack of foresight. Pickens Plan is ... a battle. Its better than T.V., the movies, and monday night bowling all rolled into one. Boone's recounting of past president's empty promises and cheap, glittering generalities; the lip service recieved by alternative, renewable and green energy solution implementations for our nation to reduce dependence on foreign oil is becoming absurdly clear. U.S. Energy Policy can be summed up in two words, "blah, blah". This nation is on a path to destruction, that is the only plan I see being projected and managed by our corporate and executive leadership. The dollar is taking a beating, the DOW is in turmoil, unemployment is the only economic bubble, interest rates are at 0, (system is broken), gasoline prices are more volatile and dangerous than ever, we are making wars in crazy places for crazy reasons and few profit, many suffer. If the boat is so badly damaged, (U.S. Economy), then nobody can get anything done except bail, and bail and bail, and pour gas into the engine to try and get more speed so you can make it to land before you sink ... A plan's greatest enemy is the leadership that is entrusted to implement the plan, our federal and state government's through legislation and incentive. We should not blindly entrust this plan to any person save you, myself, Boone and the membership of Pickens Plan. Will we hand over the reigns to the new administration and simply hope? Not I. We are SO ... far away from really turning our leaders hearts and souls towards adopting a plan and legislating and promoting that plan into existence over the next 9-10 years. Yes, we can see the 1 year birthday of Pickens Plan in the summer of 2009 and then what? Will there be a U.S. Energy policy that fits the bill, or just a budget of 100 Million dollars spent on more Federal Government T.V. ads that spout the same lip service? We got a dog, and our dog will hunt, it's that simple. Leadership is terrified of our dog, because their necks are surrounded by Big Oil's dog chain and we must break that chain around the neck of our nation and deliver ourselves from the dog days of oil addiction and dependence. With regards to Phil's email from a friend. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. My opinion is that if we don't rid our dependence on foreign oil none of the other stuff will matter, because the US will be in even worse shape and totally dependent on those outside our borders. At least he has a plan. I don't see anyone else willing to risk so much. As for the aquifer issue, if you haven't heard, water is truly the next big issue. There have been articles in Business Week and other publications. There is only so much to go around, and the way we have polluted it and treated it as something of a right, well now we will pay the price for those choices also. If Boone makes more money by forward thinking, more power to him. If you think he is the first to buy water rights or any mineral rights, land with access to minerals etc, then you need to take a hard look and see what you find. He is not. And the government is no less innocent on this type of dealing either. I really feel that Boone's biggest positive is that he has the country talking about what we need to do. People are passionate about this issue and with that, we will make the US more energy independent, maybe we will even do some good for the planet too. If it benefits him in the process, I am ok with it. Trust me, he isn't the only one who gains here. I feel we all do.
