Thanks for changing the format and beginning daily updates. I've been scouring Google news for the same information. Having one place to get the scoop from the inside will be very welcome. I'm especially looking forward to media appearance alerts ahead of time so that I can set my DVR and catch it. Really liked the congressional testimony video (though it seemed to end a bit short of the actual conclusion). Keep up the good work! PetroZero

Mr. Pickens is a great American leading a crusade on behalf of all Americans. I am terribly chagrined that our politicians haven't put the welfare of all of us over their myopic political agendas. If Clinton haden't vetoed drilling in ANWAR 8 years ago, millions of gallons would already be online and our dependence would have been less already. We need more drilling, more refineries, some new Nuke plants, AND more use of natural gas and wind power! Why the hell can't the politicians get their act together??? We need to vote out all Republicans and Democrats who put their party's agendas ahead of the American People's welfare!

Oh, I'm glad you're going to DC, but Barack Obama will be in Europe. I know he would like to hear from you, and I know that he will be the right leader to take your plan and make it happen. Please get an appointment with Mr. Obama at some point soon. Thank you, H. Todd, Vashon Island

The shortage of fuel is not about supply. It is a liberal Dogma, and it is about control. You have to un-elect them, Liberal congressman and Senators cannot hear anything but Global Warming and all their "fixes". The real fix is to pump more of the oil in the Santa Barbara channel and to stop seepage from polluting. Ask Guess they didn't want us to know about that. it is there NOW, pump it. Burt

Dear Mr Pickens, In addition to your main message, I offer a suggested check list of items to bring before congress. 1) Both nuclear and wind are our known clean, affordable, electricity generation techniques and both need to be pursued (solar will come later). 2) We need the cars. For next few years bi-fuel (gasoline and natural gas) are needed. Economics will have people running on NG whenever possible. Excellent examples are the new Mercedes and VW. 3) To make a dent on the problem, we need 'certified' safe conversions of at least 20 of the best selling vehicle models in the last 5 years of the existing 250,000,000 vehicles on the road (as we only produce 15,000,000/yr your goal cannot be achieved waiting for new NG or bi-fuels to be made). 4) NG filling stations every 200 miles along our highway system (in addition to those in cities). 5) We need to remove EPA restrictions that, for example, only allow Honda Civic NG cars to be sold in two states (New York and calif). 6) We need to encourage competition in the home refueling devices (now only one company is certified - a Canadian company!). 7) We need to advise congress that there is large new shale basin productivity, extending our NG supply beyond forecast of just a few years ago. 8) We need to indicate to congress that significant renewable methane can be produced from municipal and agricultural wastes, and very rapidly growing algae, and your plan would encourage this. God bless you for what you are doing, Sincerely, Bob Falco, Ph. D. PP member

Glad Washington is listening In would be nice if Washington made a commitment to Energy Independence, issued a policy proclamation detailing: major milestone objectives, deployment and implementation plans, schedule to complete and budget along with an implementation Czar and supporting cast. 10% of our oil bill would make a nice starting target budget.

This is the way we need to focus our energy needs on; more drilling will not solve problems in the future. Hopefully you can have a meeting with Barack Obama on this excellent plan to help re-stabilize our economy on creating jobs and less dependant on foreign oil.

I salute Mr. Pickens for putting this country, its saftey and economic stability before Oil companies quarterly profits. The oil companies have a huge investment in oil tankers that sitll are not paid for, to transport the oil from the middle east, so don't look to them to start domestic drilling that does not require (or pay for) their fleet of tankers. Leadership in energy and a plan for America is what we need, and Pickens has taken the first step, getting the issue on the map. Where are our presidential candidates????

William D. Green

Great job Mr. Pickins! I have been reading and hearing alot about alternate and renewable energy, but not as much about how any are being used. I recently drove from Austin to Albuquerque and was amazed at the number of wind turbines along the way. What percentage of our energy are these producing now? How many wind turbines does it take to equal the energy output of a coal-fired power plant? Is solar a viable option? I don't hear as much as I think we should about hybrid cars. We have a Toyota Camry hybrid. I think this is wonderful technology that should also be used more.
