How do you plan to get the natural-gas-fueled electrical power generating stations to go off line just so someone else (vehicle operators) can use the fuel that they are burning?
Everyone needs to wake up and listen to T. Boone Pickens. He states that he is an American first, and an Oil Man secondly.
His plan makes sense. The members of the Energy Committee, i.e. Joe Lieberman and others agree.
Pickens is tried and true to have great knowlege of the problem because of his experience and expertise as a Geologist. He has become a wealthy man from his knowledge, experience, and world wide savvy obtained through years of living.
I have never actually listened to him before today. Boy, was I impressed. We need to understand and absorb the knowledge he is sharing with us. We can make a great difference for our country and our future.
can we have some more information on natural gas you say we dont have to import any how much is there why are we not using it now we are sending 700 billion dollars out of this country and we have the resources here to do the job of the imported oil what the hell is going on i am glad finally someone is doing something we have a lack of leadership in this country
Reply to Mark Maupin:
I don't believe that the natural gas (NG) fired electric generating plants would go off-line simply because their cost of operation is higher than wind-driven generators. Coal and nuclear plants have not gone off-line because their cost of operation is higher than the hydo-electric plants. They have remained on-line because demand for electricity is greater than the supply from cheaper sources. If it's going to take legislation to make the NG plants go off-line, then that legislation should be discussed and become a part of the Pickens Plan.
