We were there, Bruce C and Linda C. Excellent!! There was standing room over, with many people seating outside in the Kansas heat. Of course, I was excited to see that most of us were seniors. Thank-you Kansas.

I was even more impressed with Mr. Pickens once I saw him in Topeka. His passion and enthusiasm with \"The Plan\" is evident and contagious. I also really liked the \"Town Hall\" meeting format. Mr. Pickens did a wonderful job explaining the plan and then answering questions from the attendees afterward. I would highly recommend for anyone having access to a Town Hall meeting to attend.

I attended with the intent to learn more about his mission and to hopefully have the opportunity to present him with my \"Education Plan\". I wanted to hand him a small proposal that explains how wind energy career training in America\'s high schools can fill the skilled labor gap needed to produce, install, operate, and maintain the massive wind facilities called for in The Pickens Plan. It was a little more difficult than I expected to (respectfully) pass a proposal to him or someone in his group.

My only suggestion for future meetings would be to make someone in the Pickens association available to accept \"written\" proposals for the plan. I would recommend that this be communicated to the potential attendees in advance and that the ideas be put in writing with the person\'s contact information attached.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get a proposal to someone associated with the Pickens Plan, please email me.

Yes so many landowners, ranchers/farmers thrilled with the idea of catching a windmill or two or more on their land and adding that cash cow to their herds showed up in their big pickups and SUVs that a lot of ordinary folks were left outside in the swelter to listen from loudspeakers that weren\'t very successfully competing with the noise of the building\'s air conditioning units, also sited by the main entrance.

I don\'t think any of them appreciate that within a few years things could just fly apart, mainly because the country IS this vast infrastructure built on cheap oil that won\'t work without it. Alternatives will take decades to make a difference, and will require oil to still be cheap enough for the manufacturing of an alternative energy infrastructure to be feasible and affordable.

As Pickens said, petroleum production has already peaked, and it\'s nothing but quickly downhill from here. I don\'t get where he thinks all the extra natural gas is going to come from, since North American production of it has about peaked, and the only way to get it from overseas is by special liquid natural gas freighters and liquification plants at origin and regasification plants at destination. A hugely expensive proposition. Add to that the fact we\'ll need to heat homes some way, and if there\'s no heating oil, or that is prohibitively expensive, we\'ll need our (and Canada\'s) remaining natural gas to keep from freezing in the winter.

Wow! What a meeting! People really do respond to common sense. We all know we need to get off foreign oil. We all know Congress is standing in the way. Finally, here\'s a man who is willing to spend the time and the money to stand up to the politicians and force a debate. Let\'s back him up!

I think he could have won a presidential vote today!

Let\'s do wind! Let\'s drill offshore, in ANWAR, and anywhere else we have American oil! And let\'s convert as many vehicles to natural gas as we can, as quick as we can. Let\'s be energy independant and quit financing our enemies!
