Natural gas is 90% methane. Why don\'t we collect the huge amounts of methane released from cow poop each year and use it to power our cars instead of letting it escape into the atmosphere and increase global warming even more.

Does anyone know the efficiency of natural gas compared to gasoline? I know that ethanol is about 30% less efficient than gasoline. If you get 30 mpg with gas you get about 20 mpg with ethanol. I don\'t know how natural gas compares, but it is something to consider.

As I was checking the CNG fueling stations within a 25 miles radius of where I live in California, I was surprised to see that out of all the stations mentioned, that 95% of them were private or government owned and not for public use. Please tell me why, if this is the way for new fuel to be available, the Government and private enterprises are capitalizing on this type of fuel and not making it available to all now who wish to convert and become less effiecient on foreign oil? I believe in what T Boone Pickens plan is all about and I think that the alternative fuel should become a public vs. private/government so that all can benefit from it and not just the select minority.

Something for all of us to think about-- We need to unite on this issue. There probably is not a
perfect answer to this problem. I suspect Mr Pickens has an interest but you know what I don\'t hold any hard feelings for that. At least he has a plan! I have more hope now. This is plan and a work in progress. America is known for pulling through tough times. Lets pull together!!!! Deb

Thank you Mr. Pickens for spending your hard earned time and money to educate our Country on the current oil crisis!! I don\'t understand why more people, especially our candidates aren\'t taking to the plan more seriously but with the effort of all of us together, we CAN make a difference! It\'s people like you that make me proud to be an American! We can\'t sit back and ignore the facts anymore... it\'s time to take a stand for change!!

I see a couple of people here criticize Mr. Pickens\' proposals. Fine, we can criticize anyone, this is America after all. But, I think the it takes someone with the economic power of Mr. Pickens to wake up Americans. Congress won\'t do anything unless there\'s an imminent catastrophe in our hands, such as $300 a barrel of oil or $10 a gallon of gasoline. But that catastrophic day is coming, because oil is not unlimited.
There are limited reserves and they\'re quickly running out around the world. Oil will be extremely expensive then, and the governments won\'t be able to do anything about it. We need to act now, before that occurs.
Also, I don\'t thing Americans realize the size of the problem, when non-friendly countries are getting $500 billion of our hard earned dollars every year, and that money only makes THOSE countries richer and it makes us $500 billion poorer. That money should stay in America, even if its for corporations. Corporations give Americans jobs. Don\'t forget that.

I e-mailed both Senator Barbara Boxer and representative Zoe Lofgren, requesting their support for Pickens\' Plan. I think Pickens is showing a lot of courage to spearhead a campaign, out of his own pocket, for the benefit of our country. Our dependence on oil from fascist countries is ridiculous. It needs to change NOW.

There is a problem with the ad. Iran started converting their vehicles 2 or more years ago due to the air pollution. When I was there two years ago in 2006 you had to wear something to help you breath because the pollution was so bad in the cities. Unfortunately we have our own goverment to blame for the high price of gas. We have known for well over 30 years that oil would run out but due to greed and stupidity nothing was done. How can we blame others for our own stupidity.

all this natural gas stuff is great for car\" write\"
wrong we have to think of something different does anyone know that driving a car with natural gas or hydrogen is very deadly, i saw someone online that had the hydrogen car and on all the tanks in big letters flammable everywhere, so i wrote to ask them what would happen if you got into a car accident, there was only one word from them, \"bang\" up in fire, everyone in the car and around it, all dead, no one would survive there is no chance of that, so i do not think this is the answer for us.

We have 2 two problems here: (1) we have over 1 TRILLION barrels of oil on 2 land based fields alone!!!, at least 2 others in the lower 48 that have reserves that rival the mid eastern reserves, all of which translates to LIES AND MORE LIES from the oil companies, government, environmentalist, and liberals. (2) we only get a 20 - 25% burn on the fuel that we use now!!!
We can sen up large numbers of space probes, usee a sattalite to read a dime at the base of the washinton monument and launch missles that will impact with in 10 feet of its target and all these rocket scientist cannot develop a more efficient way to get a complete usable burn on gas???
In addition they only have their eyes on corn which only gets 300 gpa. sugar beets would be better at 525gpa, (Gallons per acre) But sedge grass (prairie grass) gets 1100 gph and no one has the good sense to plant it. Any hay baler will do to harvest it. It is the highest producer and easiest to implement. In addition it has the nutrition value of alfalfa and is vastly better for our cattle than the grasses we imported and hybridized for our use. Can you say S-T-U-P-I-D, children.

COST OF CNG--- Ok folks, lets look at the facts. According to the website for Clean Energy Fuels, the cost of CNG is averaging $2.99 per gallon. The cost of the equivalent amount of energy to run a plug in vehicle is $0.75 per gallon.

Check out the facts for yourselves.........Now, I understand that plug-ins do not work for over the road semi tractors. And, officially, Picken\'s plan relates to those and fleet vehicles. But I read all of these posts, and watch his 15 second ad, and he is clouding the matter. He cannot recruit us and call us his \"army\" under one set of pretenses, then change the agenda on us. Once a corporate raider, Pickens now wants to pick your pockets at the public trough. Check out the facts for yourself.
