Well, I know here in PA there have been a lot of wind generators springing up, there are maybe around 50 turbines now, capping out around 110 or so. There are huge arguments going on about how wind turbines will effect bird migration and how they are destroying the forests where they are put up. The migratory concerns are, in reality, minuscule and I am thinking that the real reason people don\'t want these things going up is due to the drop in property value. The majority of those in opposition to wind power (at least in my area) are not true conservationists, but rather only interested in preserving their own property values. Kind of sad when you think about it...

Some may have misinterperted my posting. I attempted to point out that there are many special interest groups who will be opposed to the PickensPlan for many reasons. The better educated we are the better prepared we are to counter any opposition.
I do not intend to enter an argument here, but according to studies, birds do fly into windmills just as they fly into windows and other objects. They do not fly in to the current design of windmills as often because of their slow speed of rotation.

Birds deaths by Wind Power???? Are you kidding me? You can\'t get within 10s of feet of a bird before it gets scared and flies away. So what are the odds that a bird will think that a big fast rotating mill won\'t scare it away? comeooooon! A little common sense people!

There are a lot of bird deaths from oil spills...that\'s not an urban legend! Tell the opposition that!

One concern I had about wind power was the effect on the bird population. I have friends who are bird watchers, and they have pointed out the bird deaths caused by wind turbines. I googled and found that to be an urban legend. There have been many studies relating to this. Bird deaths were high prior to the use of low speed turbines, but some studies show that birds are caple of flying between the blades on the modern turbines. The more information we have the better. There will be many who will find any reason to oppose the PickensPlan.

Thanks for posting, a picture is worth 1000 words. It shows that You walk the walk in this Plan. I send members to your videos all the time who tend to question. I am proud to be part of this historical move of concerned Americans.

Great! Its about time we got a chance to see photos from all of Mr. Picken\'s travels. Videos are great, but when those aren\'t available, pictures will more than suffice. Thanks for posting these and we hope to see lots more in the near future.
