T. Boone for President?

(The Politico) T. Boone Pickens mused about the Presidency last night … as he offered his energy expertise to President-elect Barack Obama on CNN’s Larry King Live.

“I’d like to have had the job that Obama has now,” the 80-year-old Texas oil tycoon said, adding that he “would do anything for this country.”

Pickens, who had met with Obama on the campaign trail, has been pushing his own energy blueprint – to members of Congress and the public – to wean the country off foreign oil by using more wind to generate electricity and natural gas to power motor vehicles.

Pickens said he believes Obama is in synch with his “Pickens Plan.” And he said he still keeps in touch with former Vice President Al Gore, who’s promoting an extensive plan to stave off global warming.

“He wants to cut the carbon footprint. I say natural gas is the bridge to what Al wants to do,” Pickens said. “When Al and I have lunch, we agree on a lot of things.”

Boone went onto explain that, at 80-years-old he isn’t running for anything but if he were President-elect Obama’s age me might have been interested.

I missed the Larry King interview. Did anyone bring up the fact that the Pickens Plan is a Bailout Packagethat happenns every year once we start down that road? We just have to start. That is the point no one emphasizes. 300 to 1.5 trillion a year every year staying in the US. Thanks, Jim

The Voters Have Spoken! Together We Can Make A Change! The voters have spoken, but I don’t believe this was a mandate for the Democrats. It was a mandate for Obama’s promises of cooperation and bipartisanship, of treating each other with respect and dignity. It was a vote for the hope of a Washington that functions for the good of the American people. Can Obama lead America to that reality, as he has promised? Time will tell. But, as Obama has said, getting there requires all Americans. It’s not something he can do by himself. It’s a challenge to all of us to work together so our nation can see better days. Boone is a young man, look at all that hair he can't even keep combed I mean ... my gosh. His head is filled with Star Trek and future notions that most young men can't even wrap their brains around. He's just getting people to listen to his basic premise and all the little boys and girls in the white house are finally starting to grow up. Boone's a young man. :-) Pat
