Tell President-elect Obama the Pickens Plan is the answer!

Boone here,

Please take a minute or two and click here to check out Barack Obama’s transition website. He’s asking people to tell him what they think. It’s a perfect opportunity for each one of us, including me, to tell him and his people about our plan and why we believe it’s important to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Two times during the campaign, President-elect Obama said, “for the sake of our economy, our security, and the future of our planet, I will set a clear goal as president: In 10 years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East. We will do this. Washington has been talking about our oil addiction for the last 30 years.”

He gets it! He knows what the problem is. Now we just have to make sure his people know that the Pickens Plan is the answer.

I’m headed to the ranch for Thanksgiving with my family — and hopefully a couple days of rest. But when I get back, we’ll roll up our sleeves and get back to business.

In the meantime, have a great week and know that I’m grateful for all you’ve done, and that our country is going to be a better place because of the work we’re doing together.

-Boone

PS Click here to let me and the rest of the Army know what message you left for President-elect Obama on his transition website.

I didn't vote for you. I don't like big government and prefer that people make their own way if they can and reliance on the taxation of others rather than the fruits of their own labors robs them of their dignity and self respect and is like a malignancy that is inherited by their following generations. i've seen the fruit welfare and dependence on government bare and it's ugly. you can have the best intentions and i pray you do now that you will be president but, as a father you should know that if you do everything for a child you cripple them. i, like others, am anxiously watching and waiting to see what happens next and pray that you really will see yourself as the figurehead of change and growth and unity and not believe your own press. that you will promote people that work for the betterment of all peoples ...to lift but, not carry those less able. that you will put those people to work renewing the infrastructure of our great country so that we as a nation may once again rise to the stature we can only remember and that we may pass a better nation on to our children. i also hope you align energy independence with your environmental guardianship and follow the outline of people like t. boone pickens so that our nation's security and strength and pride can once again stand for the words we all were taught as children...freedom, liberty and justice for all.

I asked that he please follow through with the Pickens Plan for the energy and enviroment of this country.

Mr Obama, I am thrilled with your win, in fact I'm wearing my new "We Did It!" tee shirt as I sit here typing. I'm hoping you jump on the energy independence bandwagon so fast it makes peoples' heads spin! I don't know the answers to this problem, but I do feel the Picken's Plan is a great first step! I would prefer we not use fossil fuels at all, but at least getting our fuel within the US where it could mean thousands of jobs for Americans, would be a phenomenal first step. We could plan accordingly after we're independent. Please consider this X-oil man's creative idea. The sooner the better!!

I want to make sure you didn't miss today's address from the President-elect, where he lays out a framework to save or create 2.5 million American jobs by 2011. Watch the President-elect's Weekly Address and share your reaction: http://www.change.gov/page/s/economy The President-elect has directed the Transition's economic team to develop the details of a plan for a two-year, nationwide effort to strengthen our economy. It will center around jobs rebuilding crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools, and making America a leader in alternative energy. After another week of devastating economic news, it's clearer than ever that dramatic action is needed to chart a new path for our economy that gets jobs and wages growing again. We will continue to use www.Change.gov as a way to keep everyone up to date on the Transition -- including the economic team's progress. <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/m17pz0R_qZo

This is the letter I left for President-Elect Obama. It serves to promote new jobs; increased use of both wind and solar energy; reductions in traffic congestion, gasoline use and emissions, and insurance rates; all through an increase in urban and regional mass tranportation systems. Dear President-Elect Obama, I just watched Heather Zichal's video and am very pleased with all the new efforts that are being targeted to turn the country green and reduce foreign energy dependence. However, the one thing that I felt was blatantly ignored (and which would be a great way to ensure creating many jobs) is through building new light rail or monorail systems for many metropolitan areas. State governments have been disastrous in allowing things like this to be developed, and this has to be overridden. For example, the Federal funding for a light rail system which would have serviced the greater Orlando area was refused and the timing couldn't have been worse, as it was just prior to the gas price escalation fiasco. The establishment of these light rail or monorail systems could greatly reduce automobile usage and with it, reduce gasoline consumption and auto emissions. These could also be utilized as the opportunity to create mass transit systems powered by alternative energy methods such as locally produced solar and/or wind energy. Not only would you be reducing highway congestion, but you would be assisting the insurance companies (without any type of bailout) with the resultant corresponding lower number of traffic accidents, causing fewer payouts by the insurance companies. This could then additionally come back to directly benefit the public in terms of lower insurance rates. The success of just one of these alternative energy mass transit systems could be the example that could be held up as the model for cities throughout the country. Each system would create new jobs and move us that much closer to energy independence. Please give this idea consideration. If you can see that it has ANY merit at all, I am sure that your team of advisors can hone it to where it can be a viable way to help us all. Thank you, Paul A. Alessi

Natural gas is our clean fuel of the future. It's here, we don't have to by it and give our money to other countries. BUT we have to start using our natural gas as efficiently as possible! To much is going up the chimney as hot exhaust. 20% or more of the natural gas consumed is wasted up the chimney. This HOT exhaust is not helping our fight against global warming. The technology of "Condensing flue gas heat recovery" is designed to recover this energy. It can make 80% efficient appliances become 90% or more energy efficient. Then only cool exhaust gases will be vented into the atmosphere. By making these appliances operate more efficient, a lot less CO2 will be blown into the atmosphere. One last bonus. When these exhaust gases are cooled to these temperature, water is created. This water can be collected (treated if necessary) and then used to irrigate the lawns and flower beds. How much more efficient can we be with our use of natural gas?

I submitted this before I saw the Pickens plan call to arms for this site, so I didn't name check it specifically, but as you see the idea I suggested (wind turbines atop the Appalachians) is certainly in line with the Pickens plan. Since Obama uttered the nonsensical term "clean coal" throughout his campaign (nonsensical in that it doesn't take into account the very dirty way coal is mined these days), I fear that his plan to get us off of foreign oil entails only more destruction of our own national beauty and resource in the form of mountaintop removal. So, here were my comments... Hello, I am greatly concerned about of the fate of the Appalachian mountains due to the practice of mountaintop removal mining. This has been ongoing over the past several decades, but has been especially accelerated in recent years. And, with Bush planning on rolling back what little EPA regulation there is in place concerning this practice, the immediate future looks very bleak for vast swaths of the Appalachians (along with areas in the West). So, does President Obama plan on negating Bush's "midnight" executive orders? Media reports say this is difficult.... but where there is a will there is a way. It would be nice to turn on the lights without participating in the destruction of one of the worlds's most ancient and beautiful mountain ranges. A good idea is to simply keep the mountains intact, and place wind turbines on top of them... In the long term, the net extraction of energy is virtually unlimited, as opposed to the one time use of coal deposits, leaving the mountain in ruins, and the surrounding environment poisoned. For more on this, see the site.. http://www.ilovemountains.org/ Thank you for your time and attention, Ron Orovitz

Below, I will illustrate my technology and how the PP can benefit. T. Boone uses a “white board” which I can turn this into a “live” interactive Internet data base including video and audio which converts English into over 50 different languages which is sub titled in the same “live” streaming frame as it is played. Since the world can benefit from the PP plan, why not include them now. Brazil already has the technology converting any vehicle running on natural gas for $600.00 dollars! My technology will allow users at different locations, in real-time “live” to communicate through the Internet by phone, blackberry, video conference, data bases, chat rooms, blogging, search engines, and live events. Http://www.7vv.org represents 7 Visionary Vehicles driving down the “Green” road. Http://www.ctn.la represents a Magazine Launch Preview illustrating how we as a nation can benefit living “Green.” Also this format allows for all printed, audio, and “live” video presentations. These two websites are an example of how the PP plan and other interactive tools can assist improving and attracting new members. Http://www.livenewscameras.com is an illustration of how the PP plan can generate interest for “live” and past archived events which by clicking on a thumbnail picture immediately plays the format. Not all channels in this matrix are operating 24/7, however this is an example for a new look regarding the PP. First and foremost is the unification of all members, from A to Z manufacturers, suppliers, services, organizations, networking, scientists, to work together immediately and not separately. This type of “live” Internet interaction activities can be molded for the PP. Now, the PP can be it's own T.V./Cable network all through the Internet. I call this immediate value and the tools which will impact the globe. Unite the passions of all PP partners and members, with this technology, then you will get the desired immediate results by putting pressure on the Politicians and nay-sayers that currently out-number the PP army. T. Boone stated that we can be rid of foreign oil as soon as we invest and build the new grid today designed and implemented all with USA technology for the energy we need including natural gas, wind power, etc. working together coast-to-coast! Sort of like building the railroad back in the late 1800's. Unite those that can make a difference as leaders, and the consumers can't wait to get started! Hopefully people will not put too much hope in Obama as a savior. I see him as an organizer, just as Boone Pickens is organizing awareness of our oil situation. One of the most unfortunate things is that Rush and Hannity et. al. are still out there trying to tare Obama apart. They are shameless.
