Bill Maher is indeed an immature punk with no self discipline. He has a self image problem and has to make everyone else look stupid. There is very little that he can say in a positive manner without making a joke out of it. He should be sent to a Gulag with Keith Oberman, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, et al.

Boone did a great job for what he had to respond to in that interview. His heart and soul is in the effort he created. I am 100% behind his work.

I am a new member of Pickens Army after watching Bill Mahar. It was the first I\'d heard of Mr. Pickens, and I\'m very eager be progressive on behalf of this movement.

Bill\'s a dick, but that\'s why his show is funny. Mr. Pickens should have just known going into this interview that he was going to be on his toes

Having just watched the show last night, I have to say, Mr. Pickens was a thorough gentleman, as expected on Bill Maher\'s show tonight.

It shouldn\'t surprise anyone that Bill chose to be callous and disrespectful to Mr. Pickens. It would be folly to expect Bill possesses the maturity or insight to allow Mr. Pickens the chance to gain even a whif of bi-partisan support for his plan. After all, this man who clearly has a great deal of wisdom and innovative thought, has been, in the past, a Republican. Can\'t ever, ever show a Republican respect, less it make the libs look not quite as smart. Mustn\'t have that now!Good ideas can only come from Liberals, don\'t you know?

But rather than dwelling on Maher, I\'d like to point out what resonated most with me about Mr. Pickens\' segment.

Our national security is dependent on us finding ways to become energy independent. This is just as important as having a strong national defense strategy. Although I whole-heartedly disagree with Mr. Obama in most of his policy positions, be it his tax policy(raisin\' em!), his give aways to the unions, his complete 180 degree about face on earmarks or his short-sightedness at attempting socialized, or rather, universal healthcare, as is the politically correct way to describe it, the one thing I agree with him on is his commitment to fostering opportunities for the private-sector to compete for resources in an attempt to develop newer, more innovative energy solutions.

But I have yet to hear or see any facts or figures backing up such ambitions. Will it be open to all with a workable idea? Or only those that possess the right kind of lineage? For instance, will the company that discovers how to make energy out of air be judged at the same level as he who comes up with a way to create energy using nuclear means? We all know who wins the PC beauty contest in that race.

I was also struck momentarily with the undeniable fact that all politicians lie, as Mr. Pickens pointed out.

Here in California, as well across the country, Americans have simply come to accept that their politicians will lie to them and will go back on their campaign promises.

There have been several efforts here to become more energy independent by raising wind farms in the ocean, but just as Obama does an about face on earmarks, so do our California politicians when it comes to our national security and lower energy costs vs. That precious ocean view their biggest contributors so dearly pay for.

The Republican legislators walked hand in hand with the Democrats here essentially, across millions of citizens, small businesses and families, begging and protesting the higher taxes in a picket line. They instead turned their backs on us and chose to vote for higher taxes so they would not be forced to cut any administrative government jobs.

But I digress...Mr. Pickens may have come up with the one idea that everyone can agree on, well, except maybe the oil companies. He reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt, as TR was a trust buster, so too, Mr. Pickens is putting his own people, the oilmen on notice. This takes courage and conviction. But even they, being the smarty pants that they are, will surely benefit in the long run from diversifying their energy assets if they can get behind this plan.

Finally, becoming energy independent can also restore America in the eyes of the global community, who will surely throw their hands in the air and exclaim, \"Damn, those Americans are always the first to lead the way in everything!\"

Let\'s get out from under the heavy thumb of oil-rich rogue Middle Eastern countries! They are like drug pushers!
Well, we can not only hope, but can join this effort and do our part.

Thank you Mr. Pickens, for providing the much needed leadership energy independence will require.

Respectfully, Sunana

I for one am a new member of the PP from watching Mr Pickens on the Bill Maher show, which I watch every week, for years. I regret that Bill in this case did not give Mr Pickens a real chance to talk -- but the last \"38 seconds\" was full of info and I am glad to have remembered the website -- and catchy name so I could remember the next day, which is rare. Most domain names are easily forgotten. Maher lost a good chance to display a deeper working and plan going on -- yet I can understand Maher\'s penchant to jab based upon Boone making billions in Oil and Gas prior to coming to the current plan. But who would we otherwise listen to? The government and banks traditionally hire the best computer crackers to develop new safety features; why couldnt the best Oil and Gas investor lead us to a new era of energy?

Mr Pickens has my vote!!!

It was a good interview and T. Boone did get his message across. Maher does what he does. I didn\'t think it was a debate. Mr. Pickens was there for an interview, not a member of the \"panel\".
It certainly would be interesting to hear how many new members have joined us due to the broadcast.

I so respect Mr. Pickens\' willingness to \"put himself out there\" to promote his very sensible energy plan for the US. Like so many others, I am happy to call myself a member of the Pickens Army and will take action on behalf of this initiative whenever called on to do so. Mr. Pickens has taught me to forego political partisanship and instead, support clear, practical leadership. All of us can carry that important concept into the future. He is the real thing-a true American patriot!

The debate about punks and previous political alliances misses the point as Mr. Pickens would say. Those debates can be had in hundreds of other forums, just pick one and have at.

What we can agree on is that we need a change of course from what is not sustainable as imported foreign oil and exporting our remaining wealth. We need to stand together and move this forward if we intend to save our nation.

At 80, Boone has rallied millions, beat on doors in the halls of congress and taken every minute of airtime offered him. That is leadership, dedication and determination, things we believe as Americans we have in our souls. Time to step up. We have your back Boone, keep after them with the cattle prod. We are not quitters and we can get this done. AJ

It was a shame that Mr. Mahers’ agenda was more concerned on focusing on Mr. Pickens previous political ties than on letting Mr. Pickens speak about the Plan. Mr. Pickens should have had more opportunity to inform the shows viewers. Instead, Mr. Maher seems to wrapped up in his Partisan opinions to give an ounce of time to anyone whom he believes had or might have a different view other than his own even if that person (Mr. Pickens) is out to help the country. To give Mr. Maher the title of comedian is quite generous but misdirected. He’s just a foul mouthed punk whom never had been disciplined as a child. :-)

As much as I am a fan of Bill Maher I was disappointed that his approach with Mr. Pickens was to use him as the butt of his jokes. Mr. Pickens held his own and managed to get only a limited amount of information to Maher\'s audience. Shame on Maher, this could easily have been a bully pulpit with Mr. Pickens preaching to the choir as Maher\'s audience are generally progressive. I\'m was less concerned who Mr. Pickens voted for than I was wanting to hear his plan in general. I thought that Mr. Pickens was a terrific sport and has been an inspiration as a leader promoting one of the most practical solutions to our dependence on foreign energy.
