Fact of the Day - July 10, 2009

“Natural gas is here now to help America reach her energy goals. It’s not only a clean fuel for electricity, but it’s also a proven, clean alternative fuel for transportation… And because 98 percent of the natural gas used in the U.S. is produced in North America, every gallon-equivalent of natural gas used in American vehicles is one less gallon of foreign oil that needs to be imported to the U.S.” – Questar Corporation COO Chuck Stanley.

Mr. Pickens talked about starting a wind bank which is all well and good, but how about a "clean energy" bank providing financing from everything from natural gas refueling points to wind power and new technologies. Perhaps some sort of interest bearing bonds could be sold to the public to finance the energy bank. This thing is going to take money and a lot of it and IMO this would be a good way to finance it without so many tax dollars.
