I listened to you on CNBC today and agree with what you said about getting the 18 wheelers to use natural gas. One item that I think needs to be pointed out is that if we get the 18 Wheelers on Natural Gas it will mean that there will have to be a network of truck stops that will have to provide natural gas pumps. These pumps could also be accessed by private vehicles, cars and light trucks, allowing owners of these vehicles to not be restricted to a local area for lack of natural gas stations. We already have a model for this that worked with diesels for light trucks. In the early days of diesel powered light trucks, and some cars, the most common place to purchase diesel fuel was the truck stops. This meant you could travel the entire country in your diesel truck. That has changed so that today it is very common to find diesel fuel in gas stations and even Wal-Mart. One point about this transition from truck stops to traditional gas stations was that the hoses for diesel fuel at truck stops had large nozzles that would not fit in the filler for light trucks. Many of us modified the receiver to allow for the large nozzle but today all diesel light trucks have the larger filler opening for the large nozzles. Let’s make sure that whatever type of nozzle is used to fill 18 wheelers will also allow filling smaller vehicles.
