On Thursday, T. Boone Pickens journeyed to the Show Me State where he was the featured speaker at the 19th annual Convocation on Critical Issues at Missouri Western State University. The legendary entrepreneur shared insights gleaned from a career spanning more than half a century in the energy industry, including the importance of energy to all Americans as a national security issue.

“We’re the only country in the world without an energy plan, and we use more oil than any other country” Pickens said.

This dangerous dependence has potentially crippling effects, especially given the volatile nature of Middle Eastern politics. But, as millions of Americans already know, Pickens has a plan to limit this dangerous dependence on foreign oil.

“You’re going to have plenty of natural gas, and you’re going to love the price for the next three or four years and then it will move up some. It’ll move up from here some, next year you’re looking at $4.00 or $4.50 gas,” he said.
